Daily Course Schedule
A typical day at the retreat
04.30 am – Tea & Coffee (optional)
Masala Chai & Coffee will be available early morning for those who plan to start a day with a refreshing bath in the Ganges followed by a traditional Shiva Puja with Rudra Abhishekam in the Temple.

05:00 to 06:00 am – Shiva Puja at the Ashram Temple (optional, recommended)
Every day at the ashram starts in an auspicious way. The traditional Shiva Puja with Rudra Abhishekam will take place every morning at the ashram’s Lord Gangadhareshwar temple. An auspicious bath (Abhishekam) is given to Lord Gangadhareshwar while sacred Vedic Mantras (Sri Rudram) are chanted. It is a most auspicious ritual and we highly recommend to participate at least one day, if not daily.
06:00 am to 08:30 am – Hatha Yoga class (rooted in the tradition of BKS Iyengar)
Rakesh will guide the practice session systematically following the tradition of B.K.S. Iyengar. It is a long and empowering class where the alignment of each pose, adjustments, safety points and contraindications will be extensively looked into. An understanding of sequencing a Yoga Asana practise will be given. Yoga props will be used throughout the sessions.
08:45 am to 09:30 am – Breakfast
We will have a healthy, Indian style vegetarian breakfast, and additionally seasonal fruits, cereals, bread, milk, coffee & masala chai

10:30 am to 12:00 am – Indian Philosophy & Sanskrit
The classes will be conducted by a traditional Hindu Monk. Participants will be exposed to a deep understanding of Indian culture, Yoga- and Indian philosophy.
The retreat also offers a basic understanding of Sanskrit, where the student will be able to properly pronounce, read and write the Sanskrit letters (alphabet) & Yoga related Sanskrit vocabulary.
01:00 pm – Lunch
We will have a simple & delicious vegetarian healthy & Sattvic lunch.

03:00 pm – Tea break

4:30 pm to 6:30 pm – Hatha Yoga Alignment class
Intensive yoga practice following the teaching methodology of B.K.S. Iyengar. Alignment of each pose, adjustments, safety points and contraindications will be extensively looked into it. Sequencing a Yoga Asana practice will be presented and explained. We will learn the usage of Iyengar yoga props. In the end of the practice there will be a feeling of deep relaxation and peace with.
07:00 pm – Dinner
We will have a healthy & light vegetarian dinner

08:00 pm to 09:00 pm – Satsang
This is the time for you to ask questions and clarify doubts. We will also have cultural activities and events like classical Indian musical concert or classical Indian dance. (…)
